I thought I would start giving updates for my next novel(s) that I have been busily working on for the past year. I actually have two novels coming down the pipe, but for today, I’ll only be talking about the one that is nearest to completion. That particular book is currently titled Great is Our Sin, and I’m hoping to have it finished by the end of the summer. It’s a bit of a departure from my last book, which was a dystopian novel set in a world that was divided by race. This novel will be set in a present day rural town and will be centered on the various lives of teenagers that inhabit the local school system. Although the novel is fiction. I’m hoping to capture what I personally experienced while working at a very small rural school in Missouri. The novel’s title and theme are both based on the following Darwin quote:
“If the misery of the poor be caused not by the laws of nature, but by our institutions, great is our sin.”
As the quote suggests, the novel will hopefully show the tragic lives of some of our less fortunate students. I hope your interest is peeked because I have never felt more strongly about any of my writings than the first draft of this novel. If you would like to see a preview, please like and comment. If I think enough people are interested, I might be willing to reveal some early chapters.
